College Board Advanced Placement courses Advanced Placement (AP) classes are a set of standardized college-level classes developed by the College Board. There are currently 38 AP classes available. These college-level courses range from common subjects like Biology and US History to less common high school offerings like Psychology and Human Geography. Students decide how many and which AP classes they wish to take. Once the student completes the course, they sit for the AP Subject Exam in an attempt to earn college credit. |
IB Diploma Programme During the two-year course of study, students partake in 6 college-level subjects, 3 at higher level (HL) and 3 at standard level (SL). Within most of the 6 subject areas students choose a specific course. Students also complete 3 additional core components: a Theory of Knowledge class, an extended essay, and CAS (Creativity, Activity and Service) to develop well-rounded, international individuals. At the end of their courses, students complete required exams in an attempt to earn the IB Diploma and college credit. |
