What is CAS?
CAS is where learning outside of the classroom takes place, the intent of this requirement is to have an experiential way to support the development of attributes described in the IB Learner Profile and, to provide opportunities for personal / interpersonal growth and ethical education.
The three components of CAS, are characterized as follows:
|
Note: There are no specific number of service hours required. Think of CAS as an opportunity for students to seek and engage in a cause that is meaningful to them. Through continued service and commitment, students fulfill their CAS requirement but more importantly, they grow personally. The overall experience not only adds another important element to their college applications, it may be the source of inspiration for their MYP Personal Project, DP Extended Essay, college essays and possibly much more. |
